  • Tasting Notes:

Situated in the heart of the Lodi AVA, our 100 vineyard produces concentrated fruit, making it the perfect place to plant our Petite Sirah.

This fruit-forward wine opens with a concentrated bouquet of dried plum and cranberry. These concentrated notes carry over and are joined with bright notes of pomegranate and currant. Packed with slightly spicy notes, reminiscent of toasted warm spices.

Bold wine is a natural fit for pairing with prime rib, lamb. Warm tannins from 14 months of aging in American Oak barrels, the finish has lingering acidity create a balanced and long finish.

  • Growing Conditions:

To reflect on the 2020 growing season, we must look to the end of 2019. Our rain-season began with a good steady pace in late November and continued through early January, but Mother Nature turned off her spigot and we only had a couple good storms in March and April. As spring arrived, the vines awoke on-time, but the temperatures were erratic, resulting in shatter and poor berry set for many varietals. After a short heat spike in late May, summer temperatures were normal, and we had healthy vine canopies. In mid-August, lasting through September, high-elevation smoke from the wildfires was present off-and-on which likely moderated the forecasted high temperatures. In the end, most sensitive white varietals were harvested before the smoke arrived showing great quality aromatics and flavors, and the poor fruit set in many of our red varietals during the Spring gave us amazing concentration of flavor and aroma in the finished wines.

Certified Lodi Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing. One Hundred Vineyard is located in the Jahant AVA of the Lodi AVA. Planted in 2015, the Petite Sirah block is 49.52 of the total 98.53 planted acres. The natural topography of the soil is Acampo Sandy Loam and San Joaquin Thick Surface, which creates a unique vineyard floor. This prompts us to farm each zone individually with the goal of a uniform vineyard and a balanced vine.
