SAND POINT IS A PLACE
A nook on our family's land nestled in the bank of the Mokelumne River.
This land - once native habitat supporting local flora and fauna along the river's edge - was planted to agriculture many generations before us.
We put it back.
What began as small environmentally-friendly gestures - nuturing oak seedlings, planting native bushes, erecting boxes for nesting wood ducks and oaks and perches for hawks (even a bat motel!) - evolved into a multi-generational vision to reestablish a native corridor, connecting miles of our lands in support of symbiosis between agriculture and nature.
Sand Point was the first of our habitat restoration projects. And thirty years in, we are just getting started.
