The Lange family started in California on the cusp of the gold rush just as this fertile western region became a state. With a German ancestry, the twins’ great grandparents emigrated to Lodi in 1870. Their initial farming venture was non-irrigated watermelons and wheat. After years of demanding work, a vineyard was purchased in the early 1900’s – property that is tilled by the family today.
Passing down agrarian talents from father-to-son landed twins Randy and Brad Lange the chance to carve out a modern business of not only planting, cultivating, and nurturing the vines, but making the leap to bottle their hard work as premium wines.
The twins’ vision, confidence, and determination grew a profitable business in the Lodi and Clarksburg appellations from a small family property to more significant holdings, including a state-of-the-art winery. All of which gives the family the opportunity to manage the business with a 360-degree approach.
The generational shift continues as their children, now talented adults, have stepped forward with the fifth generation of Langes making a calculated lifelong commitment to the family. Each member of the fifth gen has carved out their role in either the viticulture or winery team by adding their unique spin and leadership to the future of agriculture, not only locally, but also holding state and national positions.
The LangeTwins family is a strong unit that continues to lead the industry with a thoughtful approach to sustainability and insists on each family member to be a viable part of every aspect of the business.

Marissa Lange
Like every teenager, Marissa knew two things when she headed off to college: (1) she wasn't interested in forging a career in the wine industry (2) she wasn't moving back to Lodi. Following four years on the east coast and graduating with a ScB in Neuroscience from Brown University, Marissa left college knowing two (maybe more!) things for sure: (1) the wine industry is an intensely vibrant, global, marvelous community in which to have the pleasure of forging a career and (2) home is where the heart is and hers was stuck in Lodi. Thus began her lifelong adventures in wine country.
Marissa first cut her teeth in wine as Marketing Assistant at Robert Mondavi Corporation in Napa, headed back to the east coast to walk a mile in the wholesaler’s shoes as a distributor rep, then returned to Napa as a Brand Manager for several Australian brands for Beringer Blass Wine Estates. It was the culmination of those experiences, combined with the growing expertise of her brothers and cousins in their fields, which prompted her to write her first (and only!) business plan to manifest the family's vision to add value to the farmgate and diversify routes to market while remaining committed to sustainable agriculture. Thus LangeTwins “the winery” was born.
Today Marissa serves as President of LangeTwins Family Winery & Vineyards, a family-owned and farm-first winery in the heart of the Lodi appellation, committed to cultivating a lasting impact. She oversees all operational and administrative divisions, including product sales and custom services across both B2B and DtC platforms.
Marissa and her husband, Matt, live in the east bay with their two children. Marissa is a lifelong equestrian, a serial foodie, and an avid traveler (perfect are those moments when she gets to do all of those things at once).
Aaron Lange
As a fifth-generation farmer and Lodi native, Aaron firmly understands that being a local, generational farmer doesn’t automatically make him good at viticulture or winemaking…only a Patagonia vest, Blundstone boots, and a posh vocabulary can do that.
Aaron currently serves as President of LangeTwins, Inc., the vineyard operations company that grows the highest-quality, most interesting winegrapes in the Lodi region—while caring deeply for the people on our amazing team, the responsible land stewardship of our land, and the strength of the agricultural community. During his childhood-labor years and early career, he learned the basics of farming and was immediately renamed "Ernesto" by his co-workers. Over the years, that name took on a life of its own, spawning rumors that “Ernesto” could hear sign language, speak fluent Spanish, and that he knows Victoria’s Secret. Aaron denies most of this, except the Spanish.
Aaron received a BS in Viticulture & Managerial Economics from UC Davis in 2003. (Yes, he was accepted at Cal Poly too, but beautiful weather and beach proximity simply weren’t priorities at the time). Aaron is particularly dedicated to a few important passions adjacent to the family business: 1) applied research on the epidemiology of grapevine viruses 2) advocacy at all levels of industry and government on behalf of California winegrape growers. He serves on the California Association of Winegrape Growers, the PD/GWSS Program Board, the Winegrape Inspection Advisory Board, and the Steering Committee for Foundation Plant Services at UC Davis.
Aaron and his wife, Meghan, live in Acampo with their domesticated animals: Julia, Declan, and Claire (the children), Pepper the dog, Boots and Ash the barn cats, and Scout the gecko. Undomesticated but named animals in the nearby riparian area include Camber the bobcat, Scotty the blue heron, and Blanche the white egret.
Joseph Lange
Born and raised in Lodi, California, Joe graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a double major in Agriculture Business and Wine & Viticulture. Eager to explore the world of wine beyond California, he headed abroad to the University of Adelaide in Australia, where he studied Practical Viticulture and Wine Sciences. He also broadened his international perspective, and strengthened his Spanish, through programs in Mexico, Peru, and Costa Rica. The “carry-on only” skills he developed through backpacker travel would later prove invaluable in his professional life!
After graduating, Joe joined the fifth-generation in establishing the family winery, a generational investment requiring an “all hands on deck” commitment. First serving as Consumer Direct Sales & Marketing Manager, he later moved into his current role as International Sales Director. Joe thrives in this position, blending his love of travel with his dedication to Lodi, California, and the sustainably farmed vineyards his family has cultivated for generations. Today, LangeTwins’ wines are exported to nearly 20 countries, with new markets emerging each year.
When he’s not on the road representing LangeTwins, Joe is usually focused on planning the next adventure for his family - his wife, Amanda and their two kids. An avid cyclist, he cherishes any time spent exploring the outdoors with family and friends...ideally with a great bottle of wine never too far away.
Philip Lange
Born and raised on the family farm, Philip knew from a young age that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of the generations before him. Starting at just four years old—before he could even reach the control pedals—he would sit on his father’s lap, steering the tractor through the long rows of grapevines. Over time, Philip developed a love for anything on the farm with an engine, which naturally led him to the equipment operations side of the farming business.
After returning from school in 2003, Philip began working full time alongside his father, mother, uncle, and cousin. In 2005, he stepped into a leadership role managing all equipment operations, allowing his uncle to focus on building the winery from the ground up. This shift helped vertically integrate the business and created a path for additional family members to return home and continue growing the operation.
Over the years, Philip has focused on improving our ability to mechanize and adopt new technologies, helping the farm become more efficient, effective, and sustainable. More recently, alongside his Vineyard Director responsibilities, he's taken on the role of Winery Maintenance Director, bringing his experience in equipment management to improve reliability and manage costs across the winery.
Outside of work, Philip enjoys spending time outdoors—golfing, snow skiing, hiking, and traveling with his wife and their two children.
Kendra Lange
Kendra shares her time between being the Sustainability Manager and, equally as important, being a mom. Graduating from UC Berkeley in Sociology, centered around family and work-life balance, she recognized the importance of both aspects early on. At work and home, her passion for constant improvement for the environment comes naturally from being connected to the land, by growing up, working, and living on the farm with her family in Acampo, California. What keeps her motivated each day is the opportunity to improve the prosperity of their farmland for the next generation, by working with their team (and her family) to find ways to make a positive difference. Outside of this, you can find her gardening, caring for her animals, nature walking with the dogs and kids, and creating memories and new experiences with her family through travel.
