  • Tasting Notes:

Bright and refreshingly dry, our 2024 Sangiovese Rosé from the Exotics Vineyard bursts with aromas of white strawberry, watermelon rind, and a hint of rose petal. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with juicy red berries, lively acidity, and a touch of minerality from the Jahant AVA’s distinct soils. A confident, expressive rosé with a clean and graceful finish.

  • Growing Conditions:

The 2024 growing season was marked by significant climatic events that influenced vine development and fruit quality. A wet winter and early spring provided ample soil moisture, delaying bud break slightly but ensuring healthy canopy growth. Moderate temperatures in April and May allowed for an even and successful fruit set with minimal shatter and occasional spring rains helped sustain vine vigor without excessive disease pressure. An extraordinary heat wave commenced in June, with temperatures soaring in July. This intense heat temporarily stalled vine growth; however, grape skins and acidity levels remained intact, leading to a higher quality harvested compared to previous years. The heat wave also accelerated sugar accumulation in grapes, resulting in an earlier start to crush. White grape yields were smaller while red varietals produced average yields.

Tucked into 16.87 acres in the heart of the Jahant AVA, it’s a place that invites curiosity and rewards attention. With its pink-hued, sandy loam soils and temperate microclimate, the Exotics nurtures an eclectic mix of varietals—each one thriving in its own pocket of the vineyard. Here, wild pheasants and red-tailed hawks share the skies, while the vineyard rows hum quietly with possibility. This site offers more than just a name—it’s a promise of the unexpected, expressed in wines with bold character, vibrant energy, and a sense of place that could only come from here.
